Help wiring up bulk humidifier blower

I've done a search for blower wiring but I'm no electrician and have no desire to burn my place down. I have this 100cfm blower that I'm using to make my own bulk humidifier ala Agar's tek. I made sure to get 115v AC so it would be easier to wire up but there are 5 wires coming out of this thing.
Here's a pic of the blower specs:

And here are the five wires coming out of the unit:

Thanks for the help!

hey mike. as it so happens i used to be an electrician, well an apprentice anyway. the green/yellow wire off the blower gets connected to ground(green or bare). one of the black wires off the blower gets connected to hot (probably black) and the other one goes to neutral (white). the two parallel lines between the blue wires on the diagram signify a contact and i looked up 4 mfd and apparently it is a type of capacitor. you might have to wait for someone who is familiar with this blower to respond, but if it were me, i would try just hooking up the power (after taping off the blue wires) and see if it works.
good luck!

is that a furnace blower?

If it didn't come with a capacitor, you'll need to find a 4 microfarad capacitor and connect it to the blue wires.
Connect the green wire to the steel chassis of the motor and also to the green ground wire on your power cord.
Connect the black motor leads to the black and white wires of your cord. Secure and insulate all connections with wire nuts or crimp lugs, etc. RR

It came with this which I'm assuming is a capacitor:
It reads "5 MFD" on it so I'm guessing it's a 5 microfarad capacitor. Will there be a big difference using the 5mfd versus the 4mfd recommended on the schematic? I can see that this would be connected to the two blue wires on the blower but the connectors on the capacitor look like this:
Could I just hook up the bare wires to the two terminals or is there a special connector that I need to run to Lowe's for?
Also, I've read that some people have used a spliced grounded extension cord to use for plugging in. Is there a special type I should get?

How were you thinking of connecting the wires? Do you have a soldering iron?

I do have a soldering iron so I could do that. It looks like the capacitor takes a special kind of connector so I just assumed that would be the best/safest way to go.

Yes, you can get a three wire extension cord and cut off the female end.
The push-on lugs you need for the capacitor should be in stock at lowes, radio shack, etc. Get a proper crimping tool at the same store. The 5 mfd capacitor should work as well as the 4 mfd.
That isn't a waterproof motor, so keep it dry.
If you have any doubts about your ability to wire it safely, get a cord and take it to any electrical, or heat and air conditioning shop to get someone there to connect it up for you. RR

As for connecting power your cord, wire nuts are fine. Make sure you give the cord some kind of strain relief.

Thanks so much for the help guys! I'm off to Lowe's!
BTW, the bulk humidifier I'm building is being made for complete stealth so I'll post pics when it's complete.

So I just got this bad boy wired up. Only question was which black wire from the blower went to the white and black on the cord...from your responses I assumed that it didn't matter. I didn't want to plug it in before being sure it is safe so here's the job I did:
Look ok? Should I tape up the capacitor connections with electrical tape?

It doesn't matter which lead goes to which. If one of the motor leads had been white, it would go to the white wire.
I'd tape the top of that capacitor before you drop something metal on it or touch it yourself, which you'll promptly regret.
Get some sort of strain relief on that cord. The wirenuts are fine to hold the wires, but they're not suitable for mechanical support of the cord. Fix it so if you tug the cord, it doesn't put stress on the connections. RR

Cool. Got the capacitor taped up and the cord secured. Plugged her in and she works great!!! Only too great...gotta get a fan controller. Seems 100cfm is way too much for the 18gal Sterlite tub I'm using. The top wants to fly off the thing!
Thanks for all the help though. So much to learn in this hobby!
