So my lady was out for a jog and pulled these bad boys up. They turn blue when broken so was wondering if there edible/magic.

Found in FL if that helps.

Generally red boletes that stain blue aren't great for the eating either.

yeah i live in florida and found these as well, their inactive but they are very beautiful mushrooms when fresh out the myc.

Sometimes you can find them infected by another fungus (I believe it's an ascomycete but I can't remember), Hypomyces. Some species actually infect other (edible) boletes and make them even more tasty, believe it or not.

look similiar to the gymnopilus luteofolius. but im quite certain there boletus
