    #11325704 - 10/26/09 06:41 PM (7 years, 11 months ago)

Habitat:
found in a mixed forest in north loouisiana at the base of a deciduous tree of some kind growing in a clump
Gills:
yellowish and adnate

Stem:
stem about the size of the mushrooms. its stuffed

Cap:
orangish yellow around 5-6cm when i got them. indention in the middle. on the larger ones it had been eaten through to the stem. left the largest one behind as it was old.

Spore print color: i don't know

Bruising:
it seems to bruise a little blue. it actually shows up more in the picture than it does when you look at it.

if these aren't gymnopilus junonius then anyone know what they might be?

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

True but since that was the second time you said it I wanted to be clear.  vabluefooter said, "am i at least looking at the right genus?"

You said, "close but you want a viel."  He wasn't even asking for a species, just the genus.
