Low glucose levels..?
    #11323648 - 10/26/09 01:13 PM (8 years, 7 months ago)

Not diabetic, Hypoglycemic is what I am.. having a hard time with solid food. Wondering how to keep the blood sugar from dropping in the 50's.. It keeps going back to the 50 - 55 range even after getting it to 100 when I have had food.

Having a hard time holding much down. Orange juice has been a no go.

Any one have much expirience in this, that could be of help please let me in on it.

I dont have experience with this.

How does your body respond to eating fruit? Fruit has natural sugars.

As far as food is concerned things like garlic and onions help to convert food into energy because garlic and onions have a lot of enzymes. Eating a piece of raw garlic or a bit of raw onion would provide your body with some enzymes.

Juice from a lemon or lime might be helpful.

Ive never had experience with your situation, I'm just throwing some ideas out there for you to consider.

Have you seen a doctor about this? I would. While not likely, some cancers can cause this. To help keep your blood sugar in range for now i'd eat frequent small meals, and keep away from processed starches, select complex carbs and stay away from candy.

I had a terrible time with hypoglycemia in my late teens. 50 is a pretty low number.. definitely something to worry about.

I'm fairly certain your body will go into diabetic shock at 30 and you may find yourself in a coma.

Get yourself to a doctor, not the message boards. After a full checkup, take the info to a nutritionist. Everyone's mileage will vary, especially with something like this, and statistically you will not find the person on these boards who can give you a solution to this issue.
