I made a last minute decision to drive down, and I'm glad I did... lots of great performances, especially for a free concert. I especially liked the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Jefferson Airplane (that chick singing in Slick's stead was fucking INTENSE!)...
Had to be sober, unfortunately, but I was surprised by how much acid was going around

man it was great! me and laska had sooooooooo much fun.
we almost missed it, we were in the park on saturday hunting mushrooms and saw them setting up. we asked these people who were camping what was up and they told us westfest, so we came out again yesterday. As we were leaving we ran the same people again and he gave us a tallcan to help load beer. he had been selling them all day. he made HELLA bank, man. I gotta do that next fest.

I'm broke, and I'm not risking being ticketed for being a stowaway on the Caltrain.
Plus, probably somewhat it's likely that something violent will occur at this event, I've seen some fucked up shit happen at Golden Gate Park.

me and laska got to burn and chat with this indian guy and his female clown freind. The indian guy did the show opening ceremony. We just chatted about a bunch of crazy stuff. he started talking about hourses and pulled out this dreaded woven blanket to show us, then the clown pointed to the sky and saw a upside down horse with wings in the clouds, after we all noticed it he flipped the blanket over and there was a horse with wings on the other side!!!

Shit, I didn't look at the date of the OP...
That's cool that nothing bad happened, I wish I went to it.

I usually stay away from that area ever since I saw a gang of about 3 big-ass Hispanic prison-type people literally kick a peaceful old hippie who was lying down in the grass minding his own business in the face; this left me with the impression that Golden Gate Park is not a generally safe place to be hanging around at too often.

I decided for the sake of partying as myself to not be a robot powered by hugs. I dosed hard and hung out with Fee, Tumebadger, and Graveflower.
Good times. I'm heading back to the mountains though. Haight is full of flat brimmed shwag hippies lately.
