Best FC for Me?

So I've got (6) 1/2 pint BRF cakes of B+ about ready to go.  Last time around, I followed the shotgun box tek and I could not get my conditions ideal for fruiting.  The room I have to work with is 65F and extremely dry air. 

What alternatives to a regular shotgun box would you suggest to get the temp in the FC over 70F and humidity 95%.

I've read that heat lamps are counterproductive as they add head but dry the air out, and cool mist humidifiers tend to saturate FCs.

buy a cool mist and run it in the same room you can get them cheap at thrift stores

I also live in a really dry climate (in the winter) and have had a lot of luck using perlite. Did you make sure you had 4-5 inches of properly hydrated perlite in the bottom with 1/4 inch holes? You could have had too many or holes that were too big. If I were you I would focus on dialing in the conditions of the SG and making that work. This really is one of the best methods.

Alternatively, another solution would be monotubs. They only require around 80% humidity and require little to no work. BUT monotubs are intended to be used with grains and pasteurized substrates. In the future you could start working with these to avoid using perlite. Alternatively, you could build a green house with a humidifier. This is the most expensive option and most work. Green houses are also better suited for bulk grows.

I already got a cool mist humidifier, I'll make sure to keep that on nearby the FC.  What about the temperature problem?  From what I've read 68F should be the minimum temp for fruiting, I'm stuck using a basement that is a steady 65F or less. 

I had this (crazy) idea of some sort of tub in tub... basically my shotgun box elevated inside a larger tub with a few inches of water on the bottom, heated by a fish tank heater.  That was the only thing I could dream up to make warm/humid air.  Bad idea?

are you sure you had enough perlite in your shotgun orginally? cause ive tried three different set ups (bubble tek, cool mist and shotgun) i found it maintained humidity the best and looks the classyist.

you could try that but im sure if u use something to heat up the temp like a heating pad on a timer or just run a heater and a humidifyer in the basement it will fix the problem. just my opinion im no expert.

After many months of reading and trial and error... I got my first pins today!!

About 8 pins on 1 cake and 1 pin on another.  2 other cakes with no pins yet, and I just birthed 2 more cakes today.  High hopes now!!
