Why???
    #1132253 - 12/11/02 12:12 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

The last time I tripped, I tripped alone in silence in the dark and I was thinking about so much shit. It felt so good.

Anyway, while I was thinking about stuff, one of the questions that I asked myself is why the hell aren't mushrooms used more? They feel so fucking good, they promote thought and really open your mind. They've been around for thousands of years and grow in most countries, so why hasn't the use of mushrooms been passed down from generation to generation in most families and cultures? It's crazy and it's so frustrating that most people don't know how good mushrooms are for you. Instead, most people drink alcohol which causes violence and in some cases addiction.

Can anyone help me get my head around this?

Think of it as a rediscovery.

Kinda like the tombs in Egypt :wink:

Good luck

You have not seen the evil side of the shroom. If you give shrooms out to mass population, ppl that shouldnt take them.. will... and it will cause disturbances worldwide.

The global idea of a "Party" has been put to shame with firewater and technology.

Eventually people should revert back to the basics of euphoria and deep-thought - and what better to assist them than mushrooms.

I think more people are into shrooms than you may believe

For as long as man has been aware of his environment there have been cultures of mychophiles and mycophages. I was reading something about this a while back. For instance, Russia has a long history of embracing mushrooms in general (not just psychoactives) in their daily diet and lives. Whereas other countries like England have a long cultural tradition of being mycophages, that is, they are generally afraid of mushrooms. Historically speaking. Of course, that's not to say there aren't English people who don't love mushrooms. I know we have a few shroomerites in the UK.

I do agree with you that more people ought to have the mushroom experience. But at the same time, i think the people that want to eventually learn where to find them. There are still lots of cultures today where mushrooms of all types are feared and avoided. Hell, if the American media had their way, they would probably make everybody afraid of all mushrooms. After all, feeding people fear is what they do best.

mycophile = shroom lover
mycophage = shroom eater
(the missing word here is) "mycophobe" = shroom fearer
