Isolation/flotation chamber

Anyone been in one? I think it would be awesome floating in space with your thoughts. If you dont know what a flotation tank is, it's basicly a tank filled with like 12inches of water at exact body temperature and damnload of salt disolved in it. When you lie in the water you float on top and don't feel the water much because it's at your body temp. After a while thoughts start to set in and later people may experience trance or something. Complete darkness and isolation from all stuff.

I did it once. The lady specifically said "No LSD or Ketamine" so i'm assuming she's either hip to it or have had too many people try that.
I want to go back with DMT.

I did it two summers ago. It's pretty awesome if you're into health spas and relaxation therapy, and even more so if you're into meditation, OBEs, and, Lilly.

This thread reminds me of my huge desire to do this. I remember when I first heard about this I discussed this with my bro and his wife. She was like wtf? isn't that that thing from the weird movie? And I was like, I don't know wtf you're talking about. Then like a week later that creepy ass movie came on tv. That movie is so bizarre.
Anyway, I've now gotta plan a trip into Florida to make it to the closest one in my direction.
Anybody know the general pricing for this type of thing? In OMR's thread it was $90/90 minutes. Anybody know if that's typical?

I read it's around 40$/hr. And does somebody know, how many KG of salt per Liter of water should be disolved to keep a person a good float?

I'm quite sure it's something like 800Lbs for the typical single person "samadhi" type unit(I'm unsure of the weight per volume formula). On another note, I specifically remember reading that Lilly found 93 degrees to be the perfect temp, not exact body temperature.
Never been in one myself. Want to, of course, but I would probably want to explore often and for long periods which might prove a bit too pricey. Sometime perhaps. It'd be super to own one though.

Do you think there'd much of a demand?
I don't. It seems like in house is generally the way these things go. Sort of like a hobby that pays for itself slowly over time.

If you know how to advertise your stuff then demand isn't a problem. BTW nobody explained how many kgs of salt per litre you need to keep people afloat.

I'm pretty sure the guy who said 800lbs is spot on. I've heard that number before in this context. As far as density is....just add enough until the water is saturated and something with about the same density of the body floats. I imagine that there's an actual formula involved but I'm not about to riffle through my physics notes to find it.
Just because you know how to advertise a product doesn't mean that there's a market for a product/service in a particular area.

800lbs per litre? Thats defineatly not it. I need amount per litre. Then i can calculate if i can get that much salt for a reasonable price for the dimensions of a tank where i would fit in to.

whatever it is salt is everywhere man. it's going to cost you more to heat the tank than buy the salt.

Magnesium sulphate(an nmda antagonist btw) is used, not table salt. Kaste, a little search revealed that the specific gravity target is 1.25-1.28. You'd have to do the math to figure out how much epsom salt is needed to get to that level.

I meant 800lbs for the whole tank.
Specific gravity is a ratio. A specific gravity of 1.25 means 1.25 units per 1 unit or in terms of the info you need, 1.25 liters of MgSO4 per 1.00 liter of water.
I did some figures using the density of anhydrous MgSO4 and I found you'd need 1252 kg of the stuff for an 13.3 cubic foot volume of water. But....I'm sure that's not right because that's more than 3X 800lbs.

I have such a fantasy to find one of these. I'd prefer one where I'm completely submerged, with no sense of body physical stimulation.
After trying a couple Universities to see if they had any due to the studies they were used for, I was told more than likely you won't be able to find a facility of which that has what I'm looking for due to upkeep costs and insurance liabilities.
I'm considering picking up a rather large water heater, and doing some adjustments....
