I really wish I were! I find I am so 60's oriented, yet I can't fully express it in this dumb, conservative generation I am floating around in!

agreed! Not so much for the drugs, although that is a nice bonus, but for what i think the general population of "us" was like. When i think of stoners i think of hippies. unfortunately a large amount of the population is assholes today, and no one likes an asshole

I'd be more interested in checking out 1960 BC.
I bet people were assholes back then too

and i bet that people were assholes in the 60's too. it doesn't matter what time period you are living in, only how you react to it.
the mindset of the hippies in the 60s was a reaction to society, what is stopping you from having that reaction today?
free your mind...

If you were born in the 60s you wouldn't remember much of the 60s. Actually, if you were born in the 40s or 50s so that you were a teen or 20s in the 60s, you still probably wouldn't have remembered the 60s lol. Actually, when people think of the 60s like you are they are really only thinking about the last 3 years of the 60s. As far as anyone knows there is no way for you to go to the 60s, but there are things you can do now to try to change the world. Live in the present.

not for shit there is so much more knowlege around these days, and the world is so much more interconnected. might seem like a nice idea to be part of the 'hippy uprising' of the 60s but really, it was a small group that was shunned by the majority of the world. racism was accepted, if you didnt want to become part of the system, get a 'real job', start a family you would have been looked down upon and called dropout freeloading scum. i beleive there is so much more acceptance and understanding right now than there was then. people seriously need to get over their over romanticised view of the 60s.

Yeah man, I live in Indiana and they are all conservative out the ass. I always say I wish I was born in the 50's so that I could be in my teens for the 60's. That's funny you said the same thing, because that would be my dream. We still have the potential to make something greater than the 60's, but it's going to be harder. Come on people

I personally think we are living in a crazy ass mother fucking era right now. I'm glad to be alive. I might not like everything that's going on
But come on man... The Rise of the internet, obama, clinton getting blown by his secretary, ipods, cell phones, blah blah blah
Instead of wishing.. why not make true the reality you seek?

I think it's pretty cool living in the technological generation as far as past generations go. At least we're not living in fear of being at war, and we have all the comforts of living in the modern world. I get what your saying though, and I can't stand a lot of the assholes in this world either.
I just wish people could be as laid back and free willed as I am, it would be so much easier to get along with people and just have fun, that's what life's all about really, having fun... and they knew how to do that in the 60's.

I dunno. The internet didn't exist in the 60's. ARPANET was developed, but that doesn't count.

I was born in the sixties. I was in high school in the seventies, the decade of excess.

I wish I were born in the 50's, so I got the entire experience of the 60s from adolescence onward.

Not me. I rather like the internet and all the advances we've made since then.
I think the 60s are romanticized too much. I mean if you were around in the 60s you'd end up being the people that you hate today.

Well my dad was born in 52' and still really didn't experience much of the movement, more of the after effects of the movement as he calls it. I think being born in like 45' would have been the shiznit for many reasons, not just for what happened in the 60's but for financial reasons.
