has anoyone tried this?
    #11318835 - 10/25/09 04:26 PM (8 years, 26 days ago)

i made some coir/verma few days ago and had a bit left over. i'm re-pasturizing it now but i had to use extra water and i'll wring it out.

my question is has anyone ever tried to use the expended water for LC? if not does anyone think it could work?

it has nutes.. coir water would have a PH that was not good for the MYC.. but it could work.. try it

:pm: me if you have questions about lasers

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

in which direction would the ph off? i have a little ph meter but it's really vague and i think it only works in soil.

must be something you could add to correct it.

ok. don't really know my chemistry here so don't hang me.  would gyp. bring it closer or further to optimum? it should be around 7.0 ph, right?

i may try it anyway, as is. any ideas on what i could add to get it to move in the right direction.

wait a minute.......if the substrate recipie has the correct ph why would the water from it be acidic?

cant be too acidic cuz coffee grounds are acidic also and myc will colonize coffee/coir both.

I think you would be fine just cuz myc will eat the shit out of coir,  so the wash (leftover) from pasteurization should be fine. go for it!

if anything its a good way not to waist any water at all. :sun:
