Pinnin too early?
    #1131876 - 12/11/02 07:31 AM (21 years, 6 months ago)

Ok after harvesting my first flush, i added a nice thick (about 1 or 1 1 and 1/2 inch) of casing layer to my casing... i wated patiently to allow mysc to recolonize youersef, and yeah since i wasnt very happy with my first flush i did some deep scratching with a fork, right now mysc didnt recolonize verm layer yet but one tiny little mushroom showed up allready, what should i do with that early baby should i cover him up with wet vermiculate or should i just let him grow and wait for more of his brothers? and what conditions should i maintain for now... ? warm temp low humidity, to allow the casing to recolonize or high humidy average temp to trigger pinnning? help me out here guys, i want a really big flush this time! thanx!

Way too much casing layer...take some of it back out, only should use about 1/4 inch, no more than a 1/2 inch

thick casing layer is not bad it just depends on your substrate level and how agressive your strain is. PR's need a thick casing layer for instance. Also why would u deep scratch if u don't have overlay????

well checkout this post. pr's do benefit from a thicker than normal casing layer. 2nd post from top.

I'm not saying anything about PR's, I'm saying djneutron's comment about casing layer thickness is retarded
