What kind of beer to brew shrooms into?

So my friend and I are talking about making some shroom-beer. We figure we will probably add the shrooms in sometime after the wort is done boiling but is still hot. But that's not really my question.
We're wondering what KIND of beer would be the best to make. Should we make a dark stout type beer or like a honey lager, etc? I'm just not sure what style would blend with the shroom flavor in a way that doesn't offend the senses too much.

I suspect that by the time you drink it, it will be just beer with no special properties other than on off taste.

antiPock>> why do you suspect this? There's lots of threads on here about shroombeer...
Sprezz>> That might be a good idea. Kinda hoppy, just enough to mask the shroom flavor.

Ya lots of hops are a good idea. You'll probably want something with a strong enough flavor to cover that of the mushrooms.
I'd suggest a hearty red ale.
What kind of dosing are you thinking?
I like this idea a lot...I might have to do some experimenting myself!

Do a triple IPA if you want hoppy. Add in some fresh sierra sagebrush and juniper berries. Will taste earthy and piny with the strong essence of hops.

we were thinking maybe 1 or 2g per 12oz bottle. Nothing serious, but enough to get you going after a beer or two.
I think we will choose a simple pale ale. Nothing too complicated.
I really like the idea of some kind of honey beer. I love the honey-shroom combo. But I'm not the brewer and so I don't know if this would be best.

I don't thinks its a good idea... try making shroom chocolate or honey candy...
the beer will probably taste disgusting and have no psychoactive properties.

it's been done before. Do a search.
It probably will be gross, but it might not be if brewed right. We'll probably make a test batch of a dozen at first before we make a lot.
It's just an experiment. Got shrooms. Brewin' beer. Why not try and combine them?

Why do people keep trying to circumvent the shroom taste? It's not like 2 minutes of small iffyness ruins 4 hours of fun...

I think if brewed right, the taste of the shrooms might blend really well with some light hops and actually taste good.

i would honestly recommend a dark stout type ale, with plenty of sweet malts to cover up that bitter shroom taste...as thick and malty as you can make it, cover up that nasty shroom taste.
i also think that the earthy/dirt/poop taste might work well with some heavy malts
