help w. i.d. please.
    #11317898 - 10/25/09 01:34 PM (8 years, 1 month ago)

Habitat: woods/on tree stump sorta
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.

Gills: dont appear to be attached to stem/white/light brown gills
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.

Stem: the stem lengths vary they are brown to whire w/ red hue
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.

Cap: has a distinct nipple cap. dark brown toward the nipple and lightens at is moves out from the nipple. Diameters varied with the size of the shroom. It grew in bunches/patches of 10 to 30 apprx.
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.

Spore print color: I dunno yet, I am trying for the print now.
Very important!

Bruising: the bruising seems to be just a darker color variation of the original brown/red stem color
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

are u sre bcause... I think i notice some differences...
for instance,
yours are light color towards the middle of the cap and darkening as they fan out. Mine are the opposite, they are dark towards the middle/(nipple cap) and lightening in color towards the edges. and mine have a much more pronounced "nipple" cap.
(I think), from viewing the photos.

whaddya think?

Its not in Collybia because Collybia's grow only on other mushrooms.

Most of Collybia was moved into Gymnopus.

These are Mycena.
