Preparing for my first grow. Need advice.

I have a friend that is going to donate a mazatepec syringe to get me going.

I went out and found a nice 16 QT PC with a rack at Walmart "it was on sale" Sticker was 68 but I got it for 52, I can fit 8 Pint jars in it and it will go up to 15 PSI. I also got some Pint jars as they were out of 1/2 Pints, some vermiculite and perlite, Brown Rice and I found some Rye Flour.

Should I use the rye flour, stick to the brown rice or mix them? I would like to do grain since I have a good PC but I cant seem to find good info on that method, I only found good info on pf tek. Should I start off with the pf tek till I know a little more or should I jump into grains? I like the way the shrooms look in shallow tubs more than growing on cakes.

Any advice here is much appreciated.
