I had problems with silicon and tyvek.

One hole in the middle of the jar with polyfil works great for me.

i do mine like this

1/8th inch hole filled with silicone
and 1/4 inch hole covered with tyvek
held on by micropore tame

you could always replace the tyvek with pollyfil tho

do you have a PC?

pillow stuffing would wok fine, as long as its synthetic, there is no reason you couldnt use it.

any cotton or another organic fiber in the fill would be a bad choice.

That is what I use. I bought the pillow new just for this purpose though.

Seriously, one hole.

Polyfill works as the self healing injection port AND the gas exchange.

Just use a screwdriver and hammer it through.

Not massive, just big enough that a pen or something can fit through.

yeah just punch through the lid with a srewdriver and a hammer.

put something under the lid for support to keep it from getting bent.

a tiny nail hole for inoculation near the edge isnt a bad idea also.

use masking tape or micropore to keep it sealed.

with the polyfill breather i would cover the jars well. before and after PC'ng.

aluminum foil with rubber bands would work.

masking tape does not breath and is strongly advised not to use.

and take foil off after PCing.:strokebeard:
