Habitat:
I found this mushroom in the woods at the Pine Trail in Suffolk County, New York, USA a couple of hours ago. The ground was the woods where it's sandy and there's lots of pine trees and leaves on the ground. It was growing on the ground. I'd also like to know if it's edible or not, I'll do some research myself as well.

Gills:
White gills with no pores.

Stem:
The stem is about 4 inches tall and about 0.5 inches in diameter. The texture is semi-slippery and rigid.

Cap:
The cap's diameter is about 2.5 inches, however, it looks as if it had some more to go before it opened completely. It it of spherical shape, and concave downwards. It is also very slippery, and contains snow like spots which can be removed easily.

Spore print color:
I have not gotten one but I will get one soon.

Bruising:
No bruises.

Other information:
It smells like portobello mushroom.

Sorry to ask too many questions, but is it edible after dried? I wanted to give it a try but this would be my first time. I'd appreciate greatly any input in preparing them.

Yes.

To prepare them, dry it in the sun or a food dehydrator, then eat them dry or make tea.

You probably won't like it.  Read all you can about it before you try it.
