Fantasy: RB Match-ups
    #11309260 - 10/24/09 01:09 AM (8 years, 4 months ago)

I'm starting Westbrook against Washington, but I need to pick my 2nd RB from the following:

Leon Washington (Jets at Oakland)
Rashard Mendenhall (Pittsburgh hosting Minnesota)
Ahmad Bradshaw (New York hosting Arizona)

Thoughts?

Wow, all three guys are facing decently tough defenses.

I'll break it down like this...

Leon Washington is the only one playing a soft defense.  The only problem is he plays behind Thomas Jones still.

I know people were saying how Washington was supposed to have a growing role this season, but they forgot one thing.

Rex Ryan just discovered Thomas Jones, and he's using him in almost all of the critical situations, goal line, etc.

Leon has yet to have a TD this season.

Rashard Mendenhall is the starter now, but he's playing against the Vikings.

But here's what should be noted.  With Mendenhall, we dont necessarily know just yet how good he can be.  He will get alot of touches in this game and it will just come down to if he can produce or not.  I dont think he'll put up spectacular numbers, but i wouldnt be surprised if he found the end zone more than once.

Bradshaw vs Az is another solid matchup actually.  Even though AZ has a solid run D, Bradshaw has generally shown he can play well under pressure against good defenses.  He's just starting to catch fire.

So I'd say stay away from Leon Washington because he wont get that much production.  With Mendenhall you can most likely expect mediocre numbers.

Honestly I would go with Bradshaw this week.

I agree with all that, but Bradshaw has an Ankle Injury, and Mendenhall is dealing with a bruise.  Washington is fully healthy and Oakland is 28th in stopping the run.

Arizona is the number 1 rushing defense, and the Vikings are number 9.

This is a tough choice, I think I'll go with Bradshaw because The Steelers WRs are a little better in my eyes than the Giants.  And he's been getting a lot more touches than Brandon Jacobs.  Mendenhall might be sharing more with Willie Parker this week.

It's just a tough call to start an injured RB against the leagues best running defense when they have a weaker secondary.  I would think New York will come out throwing the ball a lot.

It's gonna be a coin flip between Mendenhall and Bradshaw.

Bradshaw's had that injury since forever.  I dont expect it to deter now.

Bradshaw, we'll see with him.

I'd go with Bradshaw cause he's not going against the best D-Line in the league and will get more touches than Washington.

Gonna go with Bradshaw and Westbrook.  I'm a 19 point favorite anyways, so I'm pretty confident.

Thanks guys!

I ended up starting Mendenhall and Westbrook, and Westbrook jsut got knocked out of the game in Washington, so I might have to find a replacement next week.

I still have Bradsahw, but Mendenhall is on a Bye, and Leon Washington is gone for the year too.

I'm hoping Westbrook's injury isn't serious.  He walked off the field on his own, so he should be alright.

Next week will be Bradshaw and hopefully Westbrook, or Im gonna have to go to the waiver wire to get a RB

I won my game because Romo had a great week and I picked up the Colts DST.  Fitzgerald and Colston had good outings too.

If we're lucky Bradshaw will get more than 0.3 0.7 points next week.
