Noobie & Co
    #11308085 - 10/23/09 08:54 PM (7 years, 11 months ago)

Just thought I'd introduce myself. A friend of mine & I have been talking about doing shrooms for quite a while now. We started researching them & realized how easy they seem to be to cultivate. I'm attempting the PF Tek instructions & hope to meet Rudolph on XMas so he can show me Jesus!!!

A little background: My friend up until about 6 months ago had never touched anything elicit in his life.  He's now smoked weed a couple times.  I spent my late teens & early 20's high as fuck. I smoked weed throughout the day while popping vicodin & drinking 5ths of Jack for years. I've also been known to do heroic doses of acid from time to time.  I'm definitely no stranger to altered states of mind.  I cleaned up about 7 years ago but have never had any regrets about those times.  It was a hell of a lot of fun! In all that time though, I never got a chance to try shrooms. I just never ran across them.

The plan: On or around XMas, I'm hoping to add shrooms to my experience.  We're bringing two other people in on this, one experienced & one not. That way, myself & my experienced friend will be able to keep things interesting & safe for the other two.  I'm planning on a  moderate dose the first time around & escalating that in the future.

I'm rebuilding my psychedelic music collection between now & then.  Currently I have Hooverphonic, Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Pink Floyd, Velvet Underground, Tool, Blur, Radiohead, & lots of others. I've also recently discovered The Glitch Mob, Telefon Tel Aviv, & The Black Angels.

What artists are on your must have lists for trippin? I'm looking to expand my music collection as well as my mind.  Thanks in advance.

You've come to the right place. Expect contamination the first time or two!

I was kind of figuring on contamination. Prepare for the worst & hope for the best.  It's kind of like losing your virginity. You're a little anxious & not too sure what you're doing, but excited just the same!!!

PF tek is easy, shouldn`t be a problem.
as far as music goes, check out Butthole Surfers Electriclarryland, or some Fugazi.

Yes young padawan, first you must achieve altered state of mind through some psycho tunes.

Never hurts to thumb through the old Grateful Dead discography. The live stuff is especially transporting. There's also this band called The Mad Conductor. It's some of the best stuff to rocks your socks off to. Just make sure the play the Velvet Underground's White Light/White Heat backwards. Yeah, i said it.

And yes, anything by the Butthole Surfers or Fugazi would be suitable for such a mission. Good choices, by the way, sir.

I inoculated 12 half pint jars with the alacabenzi strain 3 days ago. They're in a bathroom of my house that I don't use at all. I have a small heater in the room that keeps the room between 79 & 80 degrees. The thermometer in there has a 24 hour history to track that.  I used home made brown rice flour with a little extra water, as directed by the PF Tek instructions. I got home tonight to find mycelium growing in 5 jars already!!! F-ing stoked!!!
My terrarium is already built but not tested. I'll do that several days before I start birthing the cakes.  It's a filtered, positive pressure setup. I'm using an aquarium pump in a filtered chamber to force fresh air up & through a layer of perlite. I'm figuring that when I test it, if it doesn't work right, it will be easy to convert to a shotgun setup. I want to try to avoid that, however, because I live in a very old house in a humid area. I am not confident that I can avoid contamination with that method. I'll post updates & pics as this progresses.

FYI. I'll update the grow on the linked thread. I think the Cultivation Forum is a more appropriate spot for it anyway & I don't want to have to maintain two threads on this topic.
