 Being confrontational

I hate having to be confrontational with people. I know that it has to be done now and again in the physical world if you want to keep things going your way, but it's hard for me because there's this feeling in the back of my head saying "We are all one. This person is you in a different physical form. This little issue means nothing in the grand scheme of things. etc. etc." So it's a constant battle between my physical world needs and my belief about the true nature of life. Shit.

I know how you feel man. I shrug just about everything off and its pretty hard for me to get upset, but when I do it bugs me even more that Id let myself get upset over something so stupid. Its just the nature of the beast I guess. We're only human

you have to be confrontational man, its part of who weare, its simply voicing your opinion which if you dont your hoding back and not being true to your self.
Also what you have to remeber is that way of thinking is very much out of the box and most people dont think like that ( unfortunatley) so your constantly gonna be running into confrontations, i suggest you chose which ones you feel strongest about

try looking at it this way... if there's a conflict within yourself, some issue that you are having trouble getting resolved, isn't it healthier to be honest with yourself and deal with it? doesn't ignoring it bring out negative aspects in you? and thus, if we are all one, then there is no difference between having a healthy relationship with yourself and having a healthy relationship with others. if you can't confront issues between you and another person, how can you confront issues in you, and vice versa.

Yeah, that's a really good way of looking at it. Being honest with people definitely is better for them in the long run. It just sucks having to play the asshole role for a minute in order to teach that person that lesson.
Now that you mention it, I think one of my biggest problems is that I say to myself "Why must I be the one to teach this person this lesson?" You know? I have to put myself through some degree of emotional stress in order for this person to learn this lesson.
