Liberty Cap Transplants?
    #11307049 - 10/23/09 05:42 PM (8 years, 1 day ago)

I picked a bunch of liberty caps.

some have a small myceleum clump at their base.

anything I can do with the base of these? colonize some kind of substrate outdoors?

have you printed any of them?

that's cool that people find them outside.. I wouldn't even know where to look...  I mean, there is no pastures of any kind locally.

1- make some prints if you can.
2- you could take a tissue culture and isolate it on agar.

it's a wild fruit, so its more than likely to be contaminated somehow, from what I've read.

I really need to read up on identification...  a few weeks ago I seen some outside that were prime suspect, but I picked them up and squeezed in a few spots.  they were firm, but didn't turn blue, so I chucked them,  also i didnt see any veil.

downloading an identification book now..

sorry to sidejack op..

hmmm I suppose i should grow up a few quarts of spawn and bury it in a convenient place outdoors

but for now I'll just keep putting the mycelaum clumps in a pile in some suitable habitat

dang there is very little info about growing them.

seems people are trying to jump straight to indoor cultivation - Workman's success shows its possible, but what about starting with out door cultivation?

Find some grass roots, dig em up, mix with a bunch of spawn, incubate and plant.

Hells yeah i like that idea. It would be a good excuse to get a goat too.

(Not that I need an excuse to have a goat.)

You'll probably still want to start on agar, then go to grain or maybe poo cakes. Goat poo? Or sheep? Or a mix?
