Eating Amanita muscaria (as an edible, not an active)

I was wondering who here has ever eaten Amanita muscaria or A. amerimuscaria, not to get high, but just for food? Specifically, who has parboiled (boiling the mushroom in water for 10-15 minutes in order to remove the active and toxic chemicals) this mushroom and eaten it, and what was your experience?
Did you get sick? Were you totally fine? How did you cook them, and how did it taste?
I have a friend writing an article on the edibility of A. muscaria and A. amerimuscaria, and they are hoping to gather some information on different peoples perspectives and experiences.

I prefer to use a small amount fresh as the flavor is quite a bit better then when parboiled.
If you remove the ibotenic acid you remove the flavour enhancer.
If you wanna eat a large amount for food, parboiling is the way to go, although boiling just once does not always remove 100% of the actives.

Yes, a lot of the flavour is lost in the boiling process.... However, I find that they are still quite good even after parboiling and then sauteing to a golden brown- and that way they don't make me puke for 3 hrs afterward!
Thanks to everyone who has responded so far.

I'm guessing you mean "grill" and "tired"?
How long did you boil the mushrooms and in how much water in relation to the amount of mushrooms?

Well I've never cooked it myself but I ate it (parboiled for around 20-30 minutes I believe) at David Arora's house in Santa Cruz once which was very tasty, then in November 07 there was another Arora event in Mendocino for the weekend where he cooked this amazing pasta with sauteed muscaria... twas delicious. And yeah, I didn't get any effect from the toxins so there were little to none after the boiling.

Amanita Muscaria is concidered an active mushroom in the sense of active with Ibotenic Acid and Mucimol...not like pcilocybin. And yes The Amanita Muscaria is "The key to Soma"

Cant say that I have boiled them and eaten them. I have dried them and cooked with them. Not enough to really get a feeling though. Only about 3g dry. I can also say that I have not gotten sick off them yet either. Knock on wood.
