Plasma Cosmology
    #11305760 - 10/23/09 02:05 PM (7 years, 11 months ago)

Just wondered if anyone here was interested in this theory?

I'm about to write a paper on it for my Cosmology class. I will most likely get a low grade for two reasons.

I will be focusing on debunking the current Big bang theory, especially in regard to certain discrepancies between the Red Shift data and observable links between Galaxies and Quasars.

I will also be presenting my conclusions on the basis of observable phenomenon as opposed to trying to prove abstract mathematical equations by cherry picking which observable phenomenon fit into it (like the current cosmological paradigm does).

So, is anyone else interested in this theory?

Not sure if this is the right place for this thread, but I guess this place gets more views than the Science forum.

one day we're going to discover that we've created our own universe. ("we" as in the inhabitants of this universe)

a few billion years in the future, when our universe is about to die, we're going to create another universe to jump to in order to survive.

that universe turns out to be our universe. old universe collapses, new universe begins with inhabitants of old universe to help move the species along.

this is repeated until everything about reality is understood and we evolve together into the next dimension, beyond the concept of a "universe" and of this reality.

what kind of cosmology class is it?

i certainly wouldn't be eager to write a paper trying to debunk the big bang theory, especially for a grade. there is simply too much evidence for the big bang theory for me to even consider giving it a proper paper without writing a book. it's not all abstract math, there are numerous observable traces of the explosion in the form of radio/micro/even light waves that astronomers have discovered and used to estimate the age of the universe.

i only know a little bit about plasma cosmology, so i can't really judge whether it holds any weight against the big bang theory. it is very interesting though.

too much evidence for the big bang theory? really?

the probability for the big bang to occur is infinitesimally small.

there are some things about this universe that humans just can't understand at this moment in time.
why the hell would we assume we've figured out how the universe began when we haven't even figured out fusion energy yet.

try teaching a colony of ants about the function of a highway.

Background radiation is not really supportive exclusively of Big bang, in fact it is mere inference that it is 'the left over radiation from the Bang'. The only way that the Big Bang has been able to prop itself up with the crushing observables is through constructing entirely theoretical matter and energy to account for the new found data.

In relation to Galactic phenomenon, Quasar origins and formation and Red Shift data, there has never been stronger observable evidence in refutation of Big Bang theory as is around today.

I do however take note and am OK with the fact that I will get a low grade for this paper. The Scientific community has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo for the sake of their own jobs.

I however have a higher commitment to truth than I do the establishment.

too much evidence for me to cover in a normal paper...

the probability is very small but if will increase as time increases, and before the universe there was infinite time meaning that eventually it would happen...or so the theory goes.

i'm not sure what the rest of your speculation has to do with this....

gotta go to class i will come back to this thread later

The Universe was here WAY before you were born.

Existence is the primary NOT conciousness.

atheists who leech themselves to unproven theories and deem them to be fact and absolute truth are no different from fundamental religious nuts who claim mmmmmmthe same thing.

I never leached anything in my adult life nor claimed Plasma Cosmology was a fact. I do regard it as a highly likely theory that has the support of many observable facts in reality. If many facts that contradict the theory present themselves, of course I will abandon the theory. That in essence is the difference between a proper scientific understanding and religion. Religion keeps to its fairytale no matter what evidence contradicts its conclusions.

I meant "we" in the royal sense. You know, like Queen Victoria. (see the post I was responding to.)

Anyways, I was speaking in more of a general epistemological sense, but solipsistically it would work too. There's also that quantum business to consider: about things not existing in a fixed-state -- condensing out of the "probability cloud" -- until observed...

But, I didn't meant to derail your thread... Sorries...

I still disagree with you. But you're right it is :offtopic:

Perhaps we can debate this sometime when I bother to start posting again in that rotting cesspool of a Philosophical forum you have here.

i don't understand. is that sarcasm? or a joke

and for you to claim something of me without even relatively understanding my current philosophy, how could you make such an acquisition?

The philosophical statements you have made in this thread are enough to know that you will fit in very well in the cesspool that is P&S. :smirk:
