    #11305597 - 10/23/09 01:26 PM (8 years, 29 days ago)

Im wanting to case my cakes after this first tiny harvest... can I dunk, crumble, case and get a 2nd flush that way?

Dunk, fruit as-is. That's your best use of a used cake.

It depends on whether the mycelium stalls or not. You can try to induce it to start feeding again, but I wouldn't do it. Think of it as a person. It's in it's old age now that it's fruiting. :imo:

getting a really crappy pinset and 2 cakes have no pins

i have like 8 shrooms, 3 on 1 cake 1 or 2 on a few more, one of the viels is breaking on a 2incher and theres 2 more on the same cake nowhere near done...

I want to make the most ideal setting for ease of misting and evenness and all that, so I wanted to case them... light would work out better one side wont be shaded...

Did you dunk and roll before the first flush? What kind of FC? What's with the lights?

first picture is my undunked cakes including the one i sliced into 4 disks and crubled into a perlite, then verm case

the 3rd picture is my dunked cakes, that are sucking at fruitng

1st box has 4 1 inch holes at about 4 inches up, and 10 small holes right under the lid

the lager box has 1/4' half inch spacing shotgunning on the top half

i plan on modifiying both boxes

misting several times a day, nothing looks too wet or too dry, fanning more than misting... 2 6500k daylight FLC's one ontop of each box... temp has been running at 80 lately, 65 the first few days...

the 2nd picture is the breaking viel... new as of this morning

I was actualy thinkin about splitting them right in half and laying the flat side down on some verm and casing the top with verm and setting them back in the FC chambers after a few more holes are made...

You should probably have additional holes drilled on the bottom and sides of your perite to allow for maximum FAE and humidity.

Cakes fruited as cakes usually suck for me. I get way better results with a casing.

:2cents:

Edit: But leave them as cakes, you missed the opportunity to case or spawn
