Pink Buffalo, Amazonian, Ku Samui, Monotubs!

Hello everyone! After a successful first grow I have decided to try out some new strains!
My first grow log can be found here: Penis Envy Monotubs! That grow I was very pleased with. Harvested about 12 ounces dry from 4 tubs of those Penis Envys.
Well for my 2nd grow I ordered my syringes from Raplhster and got my PB,AM, and the SOTM KS.
For each strain I made a pint of LC and about a half quart for a grain master.
The PB and AM colonized the grain in about 11 days form MS. I then did a G2G transfer to make 5 full quart jars of both strain. Pink Buffalo seems to be faster than the Amazonian.
The KS was a little slower and took about 14 days form MS to full colonization.
The LCs are stored in the fridge for reserves.
I plan to spawn the PB and AM to 66qt monotubs tomorrow, using coir/verm/gympson/coffe.
I will keep yall updated!

Ok well I finally have an update for you guys!
These tubs have been going pretty slow, took about 12 days to fully colonize. I attribute this to a low spawn ratio(2 quarts), and lower temps. I also think my substrate was a little to wet this time. I lost one PB to the . But I still have one Pink Buffalo and two Amazonian about 7 days into fruiting.
Pink Buffalo:
Amazonian:
Anyways I also have more jars 3 days in.
4/5 of the amazon got cobweb mold
It was a G2G transfer from a grain master, done very steril... The master looks clean also. Not sure what happend really...
I will be leaving for vacation tonight and will not be back in-till Sunday. I am hoping for a nice suprise when I get home.
Peace Out!

Those tubs look great! I've heard slow colonizations can mean bigger fruits, so I hope that the case for your tubs.
Sorry about the losses, better luck next time.

Now that got me thinking, i just smoked a bowl and read this and thought to myself, i wonder if this is true. I deff think i will test that out, the theory sounded wack at first but if you think about it, it may have some truth. I have jars that are going very slow, i am thinking this is due to airflow because i just used foil on these jars not really caring if they took off because of how wet they were(figured theyd be trash) but i gave it a go anyway. well heres what i got from it.
its twice as thick and white as the rest of my jars so i wonder if its because it has to try harder to grow, and in the process making it super strong or bigger and thicker then my others, which i guess also could lead to a bigger fruit because of how strong the mic is? idk im super high, good luck with this man and pay attention to the slow jar, see how well it fruits and post updates!!

I don't mean to jump to conclusions my friend, but I see some strange looking objects in those jars towards the bottom. Look kind of like possible cobweb or bacteria. Like I said though, I don't want to jump to conclusions, it could just be the interior of the grains...
I don't remember where I heard that thing about slower colonization, but like you said, it makes sense. Same with potency. The longer you give the stuff to consolidate and condense, the more it will be able to really hit a home run in the bottom of the 9th if you know what I mean. If it has a chance to take care of it's business up front, it can do it's extra curricular activities later, like making bigger fruits and producing more compounds.

there is deff shit at the bottom of the jars, extra moisture more busted grains the stuff settles to the bottom of the jars as a creamy substance, i have about a dozen jars that were almost as wet as these that took of and were done in a lil over a week, i put a clean paper towel in the top of them and set the jars upside down for a couple days, towel soaks up the moisture and the jars were used for tubs. Never a dull day in the world of mushrooms!

Ok well I harvested the first flush a few days ago The Pink Buffalos had a pretty nice pinset but the fruits where very skinny. The Amazonians had a not as good pinset but much fatter fruits. I will proably be going to continue using the Amazon strain as soon as i try out the potency.

metalshroom your a great example of what reading can do. i see youve got your pinset down of them pb.And even tho your first and second grow may not have been exactly what you wanted,if most people on their first grow achieved half of what you did they would be ecstatic. great job mate and happy growing

I would put my money on those jars are growing so slow because of contamination. Looks like bacteria as someone else has said.
TO the original poster, nice pics and pinset on the tubs. You should post wet and dry weight if you have a scale.
