1,000 Panaeolus subbalteatus (Pics)

Well today was my lucky day in the line of finding Panaeolus subbalteatus. A horse manure pile which I had been scoping out for about 3 months finally produced its first mushrooms.
Here's the manure pile. Its about 10 feet high, and 40 feet wide. There were Panaeolus antillarum, some Coprinus, but the most important, subbalteatus!!
And here are the shrooms. Enjoy!
Gills:
Bluing at base:
And just a few of them

Well done and a nice patrch at that. It is good that you showed the flat edge of the circumfrence of the Pn. subbalteaus becasue many times it starts out as a circle and then follows a straight line and then joins back in the circle at the outer edge of the cap, a characteristic of the species.
good photography and have a shroomy day,
mj

it's a hell of a nice find. persistence pays off it seems. i've been trying to work up the nerve to ask my neighbors permission to hunt in thier pasture, they're pretty straight-edged and wouldn't buy the "just picking eddibles" line even if i meant it.

Hmm... I donno, I remember seeing it, but I think it was just fresh shit, or fresh clippings of something..
If it WAS a slime mold, would the mushrooms be inedible or what?

it certainly does appear to be. it could just be the pic, but there in red appears to be a solidified blob of the green stuff in question:
probably ok, i don't know a whole lot about slime molds (other than that they look cool) but the one in the pics dosen't appear to be pathogenic to the mushrooms. i wouldn't sweat it much.
