A mushroom picker who went missing near Terrace was found unharmed on Wednesday.

R.C.M.P. say the man became separated from a group of pickers and failed to return to their meeting spot along the Beam Station Road Tuesday afternoon.

Terrace Search and Rescue were called in, looked for the man until 2:30 am, and resumed the search again when the sun came up.

An R.C.M.P. member patrolling the road ended up finding the picker around 10:30 Wednesday morning about 10 kilometres from his truck.

I wonder what he was doing.

Probably found himself a few ounces of fresh cubes and tripped his balls off during the night :P

If you're going to be lost in the woods, at least have the skill of mushroom identification. More food = good.

I knew mycology would come in handy for me someday....

Provided I ever get lost, of course.

These were not magic mushrooms they were picking in Terrace BC.  I grew up in the area picking wild mushrooms and don't think they grow there.  If it was a big group of pickers i think they were probably picking those pine mushrooms that they sell to the Japanese.  Matsutaki i believe they call them.

I agree that this mushroom group was not likely looking for actives, but I'll bet that active mushrooms DO grow in Terrace BC.....

They grow almost anywhere.
