Coir Monotub Problems(Pics)
    #11301364 - 10/22/09 07:45 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Sup guys. Alright so my last four batches of monotubs seem to not fully colonize underneath. I mix at right under 1:2 ratio and wait about 17 days to be sure. I looked at the sides and the sides were colonized. I had to cut a piece out, and it looks very brown.

I read somewhere the coir never fully turns white so am I ok or what? I mixed with quart of coffee and and quart of verm. I have had success with my same methods before so you tell me...

I have had problems with coir not fully colonizing also, but had a good grow out of it.

Not that you lied to me, but that I no longer believe you has shaken me.

"I have done that" says my memory. "I cannot have done that" says my pride, and remains inexorable. Eventually - memory yields.

Sometimes the coir doesn't fully colonize because it is packed to tightly..  I personally use almost a 1:1 ratio of coir and verm that way it keeps the substrate nice and airy.  Which makes it easier to colonize it seems like.
