do you normally kill your dream adversaries?
    #11299054 - 10/22/09 01:57 PM (8 years, 1 month ago)

i usually do.

a couple nights ago i had a dream where a friend and i were fighting a demonic human reminiscent of the hindu god kali- you know, the one with 4 arms and shit; he was in human form though. anyway my friend and i were struggling with him in a kitchen and i manifested a knife and cut his head off, but i knew the job was not done, for some reason i thought i had to plunge the knife deep into his spinal cord in order to finish him off. i got scared and went to another room hoping my friend would finish him off, still struggling with the headless body. i look back after i went into the other room and see that my friend has been completely dismembered by the headless body. no... end transmission.

got any stories?

yeah, I can be a violent dreamer. Killing zombies, monsters, other people, whatever.
Never been killed in a dream myself.
When I was a kid I witnessed killings that I would have liked to prevent though.

My dreams can get pretty violent too.  Hacking zombies with machetes, killing feds who are chasing me for whatever reason.  Werewolf attacks are common in my dreams too.  Pack of large, dark furred werewolves.

But yeah, I normally kill my dream adversaries.  The most frustrating thing for me in my dreams though, is that if I have a gun, its only good for a couple shots, then it starts firing BBs (little use against people, zombies, or werewolves) or it just flat out breaks.

Apparently this is a common theme in dreams. I've had more than I could count about a broken, jammed, or useless gun.

My friend says all dreams are either wishes (wish to happen, or wish NOT to happen) or basically replays of things from your waking state.

In short our guns not working in a dream is something we wish NOT to happen.

you know, i have a fair amount of zombie dreams.  i mean, not a lot, but they're not rare either.  but in my dreams, i rarely seem to have a weapon, and almost never a gun.  most of the time i'm just running and/or sneaking past them [or at least trying to].

i kill people every now and then.  so far as i can recall, it's always been in self-defense.  i killed some vampires before too, fighting alongside of buffy, lulz.

To dream that a gun fails to fire, indicates that you are feeling powerless in some waking situation. Perhaps you need to attack your problems from a different approach. Alternatively, a malfunctioning gun represents sexual impotence or fear of impotence.

Yea, one dream after ingesting dream herb (calea z) I had a vivid, nearly lucid dream, of  bludgeoning a couple of my friends to death. It was a friend I got into a fight with a few months before, and I lost my cool and pushed him down the stairs.

I have tons of dreams where I am a demon-hunter or zombie-slayer and I'm killing all these creatures.

If our dreams are all aspects of ourselves, the best way to deal with these things would be to incorporate them, rather then destroy them. Give your demon a hug, yea know.

That's what I've always figured

I don't think it's fear of sexual impotence, that wouldn't make any sense.

However impotence in the literal sense of the word, yes, that scares me.

I rarely do, usually i escape.

I had one last night where i was on some kind of living space ship that went psycho and killed the crew. I was the last survivor (or so i thought) and took a short cut to the armory. I grabbed a futuristic shotgun, an automatic rifle, two pistols, grenades, and lots of spare ammo.

I left the armory and was blasting away drones sent after me, i hopped on a tram that went around the ship to the core. At some point Morgan Freeman (lol, i know, :wtf:) joined me and i handed him my shot gun. We were figting off drones, and he told me to go ahead as i moved towards the core.

I was at the passage leading to the core, guarded by lasers, and i was tucked up aginst a wall out of their line of sight, i had the key in my hand and......

....my dream switched scenes, to some crazy planet populated by two races of bird-like people. I was friend of one (white feathers), and enemy of the other (blue feathers). I was in the White Feathers nest which was on the cliff of a huge canyon, and on the opposing cliff were the Blue Feathers. I could fly but was human and had a pet beast (lack of better term) that could also fly. We were just about to go into battle....

...and i woke up. :crankey:

My dreams ALWAYS fucking end before the really awesome parts.

It really sucks when im having some crazy awesome sex dream, and i wake up before any thing good happens. :kingcrankey:

dude, you dreams sound epic.  but i totally understand the morgan freeman thing.  i've had similar celebrity cameos.  i think it's because certain dreams just feel like movies.  i love watching films, and i think it shows in my dreams, as often times i literally feel like i'm watching a movie starring myself.  it's not like i think that in my dream, but i do think "oh, this is fun, i can't wait to see what happens next."

incidentally, that makes it hard for me to get out of bed because i think to myself "oh no!  i must see how it ends", so there's usually quite a few hits of the snooze button so i can go back to watching.

I began taking 9mg of melatonin before i go to bed.

At first my dreams were rally chaotic, and i wouldn't remember them when i woke up, but i knew they were crazy awesome.

Now they seem to have mellowed out, and i can remember most, if not all of the dream.

My dreams are usually in 1st person, but sometimes they will go 3rd, and i kinda lose control, those are the creepy ones.

But with the morgan freeman thing, i almost never have celebrity cameos, and now that i think of it, i think that was the first ive ever had. Usually its people i know/knew or someone very similar to them.

I was kinda thinking of Freeman as a reference to half life, and Morgan freeman was just who came to mind.
