Digital Hygrometer+ Analog. which is right?

I Have a digital hygrometer (from Walmart, like in the post below =) I Have a analog hygrometer (from petstore , 1 inch dial meter)
Ok this was my test to set humidity at 85% constants..didnt work. I placed a foil pan of perlite (cleaned with bleach/H202/H20 and rised) 3 X 5 Pan The pan is 2 inches deep.. This alone gave me 70% constant for 2 days.digital/analog I placed a little more in there to raise it up and it "says" Analog: half between 75 and 100 percent humidity Digital: Hi% which is above 90%
Which is right of these..Analog of Digital. I place both pans of rinsed perlite in the Sterlite bin. digital is still past 90% humidity.
none of my walls have condensation of moisture on them. should They?? If i spray them down the humidity goes way up so why do that??
much.respect.

Hygrometers are notoriously unreliable. Also, you may not get condensation on your walls all of the time. As long as you've used the recommended perlite to water ratio, the rH should be fine.

do this, take the cap off a 2 liter or three liter soda bottle (n or similar thing) and put some non-iodized table salt in it. Put some drops of water in it so that the salt is damp not super wet. Put it along with your hygrometers in a tupperware or any SMALL closed container. the smaller the quicker this will go. Leave them in there for twelve hours. They should say 75%. If not, just use the difference to calculate your humidity. This is called calibrating your hygrometer. Do a search for calibrating hygrometers.
