More Awesome PNW Mushrooms
    #11294446 - 10/21/09 09:03 PM (7 years, 11 months ago)

These were all found within .25 square mile of each other. I'll give habitat, but with the pics I have, it should explain the rest. Hit me up with any questions on info I left out. Thank you in advance for your time and help with these:

Habitat:
PNW, Oregon, above 2000ft elevation, dark rich soil, mainly Douglas Fir, Hemlock, Pacific White Fir, Blue Berries, Salal, Rhodies, lots of green clover, mostly on or around lots of decaying wood(stumps ,logs, etc.)

Gills:
Varying

Here are the pics:

Mushroom #1 not much scent at all

Mushroom #2 - Has an EXTREMELY pronounce garlic smell, can even smell it 10ft away after being picked.

Mushroom #3 - Mild normal mushroom smell

OK, stop laughing, the last isn't a pic of my girl's boobs

The one that smells like garlic is probably a Marasmius.

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.
