Thought somebody might enjoy to see these mushrooms that were growing on my brother-in-law's lawn:
(edit) - Location: lawn in SE Ohio. Gills were pink in immature specimens. Spores were brown. The largest one in the photo was 7.5 inches in diameter and weighed half a pound. Bruising was pinkish in fresh specimens.
I cooked a few smaller ones up and ate them. I thought they had a slight funny chemical taste, but I have felt no ill effects. I'm wondering now if my brother-in-law uses fertilizer and pesticides on his lawn...
