P. Cyanescen cultivation
    #11293821 - 10/21/09 07:39 PM (8 years, 1 month ago)

Hello Shroomery! I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to register.

I've been hunting around my area and after close identification of several types I found several spots where Psilocybe cyanescens grow. However, I also found that a good amount of other people know about these spots as well. Several times I have gone by and there would be just tiny guys coming out of the ground, and other times the place would be completely ravaged.

I'm now interested in growing instead. I'm a poor college student so I'd like to not buy spore syringes online if need be. One solution I have come up with is to take a few mature ones that I can find and use them to cultivate indoors.

Has anyone had experience taking mushrooms from the wild and using spores to cultivate? Also, I've been looking in threads and most of the cyan grows are outdoors. Is this species going to be difficult to grow inside?

from what i have read they are extremely difficult to cultivate indoors
im sure people have done it but i have yet to see it

i would suggest picking a few and taking prints of them
that way you will have something to work with

next read up on the subject of cultivation in general
find out what they grow on/how to get a culture started
and what to start them on

look into agar work  because you will need to clean up
those prints that came out of the wild

hope this helps some
if you have any questions feel fee to PM me

:pm: me if you have questions about lasers

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.
