    #11292918 - 10/21/09 03:30 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

Would it be ok to take cakes that were sitting in a FC for a week, break them up and case with them?

and before you try and tell me not to, there already broken up :P

the only reason im asking this is beacause i was having trouble with the humidity in the location they were, and wanted to move them somewhere else. and i thought it would be better to case.

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

this is a bad idea cuz there is contams on the out side of the cakes. but i have done it with about a 70% sucsess rate but it was always better to just leave as a cake to begin with

agreed but he already crumbled them..

i say case with 100% verm and that way there is nothing for contam to eat..  if the cake is 100% colonizes, he should be ok

they look a lot whiter in person. and its coming directly from where chunks of cakes were so im thinking its not cobweb. but idk. will spraying it with h202 hurt it if it is mycelium?
