Pizza delivery

I'm sure some people here deliver pizzas, or did in the past.
I'm wondering what the best companies to work for would be? It looks like Pizza Hut and Papa Johns are both hiring in my area, would you recommend working for them or not?
I could totally drive around getting high delivering pizzas to people on nights, and I used to hear that hourly + tips = about $15/hr, but I'm sure that was when the economy was better.
Any input? thanks!

I did it for many years for many different places. Working for one of the big corporations is way better then working for a small mom and pop shop, imo. I would expect you should make about $15 an hour. It sure is a great entry level job.

Seems like it would be, I spent the last three years driving a company van around, and with my 06 Civic, I should maximize my mileage.
Weekends are probably better, right?

Well, it is busier on the weekend but they also schedule more drivers - so im my experience you dont really make any less during the week. Its the tuesday where two drivers call in, for example, that you really make alot of money.

I delivered pizzas through college, and I'm not going to blame the economy or anything, but suffice it to say I'm delivering again. It's not bad. $15/hr is realistic, maybe more if you find a busy shop.
You really get to see all kinds of people on this job, it's very entertaining. Last night I delivered $60 worth of pizza to a wedding reception at this woman's house. She didn't even place the order ahead of time, and she didn't tip.

I deliver for domino's pizza. It's a pretty good job. Fun as hell.

I have friends who deliver for both Pizza Hut and a mom and pop type shop.
The mom/pop shop guy makes a ton more than the Pizza Hut driver, both in tips and hourly pay. Pizza hut here starts people at about $8.55 an hour, while the mom/pop shop starts workers at $10, the manager makes about $20 an hour.
Depends on the location I guess, here in Seattle the best pizza places are the non corporate ones.
I used a $50 RightWay 200 GPS unit when I delivered pizzas. It made my tips go way up since I never had to look for an address.

i once worked at the dominos pizza for about 14.75 an hour ultimately. some nights were way better as i live quite near to a college campus. (back in the day i would walk out on a weekend night with 100-200 dollars in tips)
but when the new management came and things became all about the dominoes corp business started to dwindle.
way too many rules too.

I've heard that Dominos won't even let you have facial hair, not even a neatly trimmed moustache. Not sure if that's ture but its what I've been told.

A better paid job is courier services. My uncle earns $45,000 - $50,000 a year delivering 'special' packages all over the state. Its long hours but it pays real well.

Got a company name to suggest? If the job is legit I could give a fuck less what's "special" about the packages, but if you're talking about driving weight across the state, I gotta pass.

No, its legit. Its electronic equipment, research materials and whatnot usually for government purposes with 'do not open' seals on the packages.
Don't remember what the company is called but I'll find out.
