    #11287580 - 10/20/09 10:51 PM (8 years, 2 months ago)

soaking seed for 24 hrs is a ok, now i recently soaked a little to much (ran out of jars) and have to wait another 8-12 hrs before i can get back to the seed. question, how long is to long? and whats the best course of action here if its not to late? should i keep the seed submerged, or should i go ahead and strain?

go ahead and strain in my opinion, you dont want the seeds to get soggy or burst, but depending on the time they are in water it might be ok

I soak for 24. Some soak for up to 36 so you're probably ok.

If you're worried you could strain and keep it covered till you get the jars. It should be fine just don't let it dry out.

If you know it is going to sit more than 24 hrs you should exchange the water a few times, refilling with hot water.

It may start to smell, but this is normal.
