what a coincidence, theres a library thread right at the top of the Pub.
anyways, it would take a really shitty type of person to do this (aka myself)
but with an economy this bad, how can you blame me?
i would love a nice collection of science books, textbooks, cliffnotes, anything i guess.

in high school i used to steal books and then return them, to avoid late fees and pesky detentions

All that shit can be had for like a dollar a book if you don't care about new editions and all of that.

You fail. You do realize that it's free to borrow books from the library right? As in you don't have to pay for it. As in all you have to do is say "Hey, can I borrow this book, I want to read it." And they say "Yes."
Why the fuck would you steal from a library?

You should just check them out when you need them. The library is one of the few cool things the government does, stealing books from the library is unnecessary and selfish.

Why is it necessary to steal from the library when they will let you borrow the book whenever you want? Don't do it.

This thread reminds me of when our class would go to the library in middle school and me and a couple friends would stash books like "Knowing VD" and "All About Genital Warts" in classmates' stuff so when they walk through the detector while leaving, it goes off and that's what they're caught with. Looking back, maybe it was kind of cruel, but I thought I was funny shit.

Now that I'm back in a university setting and have access to a library system that can borrow rare books from other library systems, that's what I'm doing. Books that I desperately wanted to read, but were only printed in a very limited number years and years ago, and which sell for hundreds or even thousands of dollars, are now comfortably a part of my collection in the form of photocopies housed in binders.

OP, stealing from libraries is fucked up. I don't give a shit if you steal from Wal-Mart, but libraries are one of the few things present in our society that give me reason to hope that the future might have a few rational and informed people. You wanna fuck that up? In an era when you can just SCAN whatever pages you want? Sorry dude, but there's no two ways about it: that makes you a shitty person.

anyways, it would take a really shitty type of person to do this (aka myself)
but with an economy this bad, how can you blame me?
i would love a nice collection of science books, textbooks, cliffnotes, anything i guess.
I can blame you because you just stole knowledge out of some one's brain in the future. Who knows what the books you stole could have been used for. Take them back, and reorganize some of the books while you're at it dude... stealing from a place like a library...

Thieving of humanity, turning us into a harvestable crop that gives its energy to master Walmart.
Taking away our creativity and replacing it with meaningless, stupid bullshit we never needed.
FUCK that place.

I don't need to explain myself to the internet!
No seriously though, I believe that a sense of community is essential to psychological health and the creation and maintenance of loving and sane human beings. Wal-Mart and places like it are devoid of any semblance of human community. You leave your filing cabinet (I mean "apartment") and get in one of a few models of mobile box (I mean "car"), then you arrive at a cavernous building devoid of any aesthetic taste where in complete anonymity you buy mass-produced merchandise which relies on the rape of economically disadvantaged countries for its production. Then you go back to your filing cabinet.
I'm not saying you have to take my view as your own, but that's why I don't give a FUCK if you burn down a Wal-Mart.

Sorry for not applauding.
Yeah man, especially since I've started trying to track down articles about drugs in the scientific literature. It seems like literally one out of every three articles on psilocybin, no matter how obscure, have been ripped from the archived periodicals. Every once in a while the lirbary has replaced the pages with photocopies from another library that has the journal, but in general I'm SOL.
Shit's fucked up

Do you honestly think thats all it is? Tell the truth dude.
Walmart is not just a store, it is a corporate powerhouse, instilling bullshit values into the minds of stupid people for its own person gain.
Now you tell me, why would a human being need a television? Why would a human being need a new mp3 player that holds more music than that person even has? Why would a person need to buy 200 cartons of chocolate-fucking milk because it cost him less?
Go around the store, there isn't anything that a person truly needs there. It is a spiritual void; the heroin of society. Its really convenient, self-indulgent, cheap, and it distracts the living shit out of everyone just like every other large corporation.
Some people are okay with this, I think it is disgusting, lazy, putrid, and a true spiritual death of humanity. Nothing can convince me otherwise, I've been over this topic many a time.

I go there for OJ and milk. It's not the evil place that you believe. It's just another store that sells stuff. Just because they do it better you have this hatred for the company.

fuck the library anyways. i rented a movie once and kept it too long, and the late fees were 80+ dollars. it was a shitty movie anyways, but there should be a cap on how much you can charge in late fees for a b rate movie

To try and open up the minds of people that mindlessly go about their lives like ants in a colony, so you can make an informed decision about how to live your life.
Yes, it is easy and convenient to get things for less work, but it is this mentality that is rapidly erasing creativity. People are trapped in a cage of comfort, convenience and safety and are okay with it. Sucking on the teet of the system to get its sugary milk, and all we have to do is put in our hours. Why waste them giving money to people down the street at the small supermarket where the people at the top aren't concerned with marketing, but rather living? Every dollar spent at Walmart is a few cents in the pocket of some disgusting excuse for a human being who puts a blindfold over the head of the masses, and prods them into the doors of the closest store.
You people are so damn comfortable destroying everything the founding fathers have worked for, destroying everything evolution has worked for. All for your god damned conveniences and self-indulgences.
Not that self-indulgence are necessarily bad, I indulge myself often. It has its positives for sure, but not when you are addicted to it to the point you don't even realize it anymore.

take apart a clock and put your eyes inside, to see the time at once and the human bodies glide, to snakelike forms they morph and twist through space, they become a 4th dimension creature, in a 3rd dimensional place.
