Horse Manure Finds
    #11287138 - 10/20/09 10:06 PM (8 years, 9 months ago)

Habitat:
buried horse manure.

Gills:
White.  Spore print color appears to be orange, but there has been very little spore drop.

Stem:
Few inches, whitish.

Cap:
Few inches, orange.  The older specimens appear to have a ring around the cap, much like the panaeolus antillarum fruiting everywhere else.

Spore print color:
Orangish, rust, still waiting for more spores.

Bruising:
No bruising

Other information:
This mushroom was popping up while all the other mushrooms fruiting are panaeolus antillarum.

This mushroom was also popping up under the same conditions, much smaller.  Spore print color rusty orange.

Panaeolus antillarum for comparison:

The first one could be Agrocybe putaminum.  No idea on the second one.

The second one is tiny, the cap no bigger than a thumbnail.

Yeah I would describe them as orange/rusty/reddish-brown.  I really need to get a microscope.

Cap is slimy, and there is a veil in the younger ones.

Could it be Cortinarius?
