Thats a cool one.  Reminds me of Tapinella but I can't find any species that match.

Thanks snorkler. 2nd filaris sighting for me. They were in pretty decent numbers out in the flood plain.

Thanks KBG1977.

Ahhh- i used to live where ticks were thriving......now i have yet to see one for the last 2.5yrs! I do not miss those little deer ticks either-  i once found about 200 superduper lil ones all over myself - not including my wife and my dog too -

our tick ritual - burn them all one by one - saying "burn in hell dirty tick"
suppost to help but id stay far from areas known for infestations
i still have a 3yr old scar from one lil deer tick that still itches quite often to this day - -- -  why don't we get meds like canine frontline?? ive never found a spray that actually works:mad2:

You should never burn ticks out of you. Best thing to do is pull them out with your fingers.

Kentucky would be a dandy place to find P. ovoideocystidiata. I live pretty close to there.

:thumbup:very true - gotta burn em so they die- they live even when cut in half sometimes -
and a good trick - is to unscrew them Counterclockwise as they actually drill clockwise down into the skin:wink:  watch n see if you can notice them circling clockwise to dig in..........
