ager inoculation
    #1127944 - 12/10/02 04:54 AM (21 years, 2 months ago)

Hello everyone,

my first post. I don?t consider myself a total newbie. I have tried several techniques and regularily read in this forum for about 2 months now.
my first flush is about to grow (hope so).
still I have some points not compleetely clear here I think.
my question is:
it says in the faq that I should inoculate the agar with the sterile syrenge.
I did that, only maybe 5 to 10 drops, now I placed it in the cultivator(8-85 F)
without moving it and see the water is floating arround there, I even can see clusters of spores floating arround, the surface of the agar is not completely covered with water, only the few drops have melted together and stay in place. will the spores even touch the agar?
the agar was after cooling kind of solid, I mean very solid, of course I couldn?t touch it to try but it wasn?t wobbling or anything like a pudding.
I thought maybe it turned concrete like ...
just wondering and waiting ...

thanx to everyone

trigan

>the agar was after cooling kind of solid, I mean very solid,

That?s how it?s supposed to be.

Wait a few days, the water drops will get absorbed by agar. YOu could also spread the water drop by tilting the dish around a bit.
