The Europeans kicked the Native Americans because...
    #11278366 - 10/19/09 06:11 PM (8 years, 6 days ago)

1. They had stronger Medicine.

2. They were smarter.

3. They were better fighters.

4. Their use of science led to superior weaponry.

5. The Injun's access to the Spirit World and The Ancestors was pure fantasy.

6. All of the above.

Injun lovers would have you believe that the Native peoples were peace-loving and the Europeans were evil bastards, but history paints a different story.

I don't know why number 6 is in their... (not to mention europeans have had their beliefs...)

The best reason would be number 4 combined (hand in hand) with the older states that formed in europe thus giving them more numbers to deal with manufacturing and collaborating thoughts and work... the perhaps younger nomadic tribes barely resembled the bulk of european states.

People always point out that the europeans raped and pillaged the natives and such, true enough, but that is the us and them sort of thing. There was quite enough raping and pillaging that gave rise to and formed the bigger "grotesque" states of europe... whatever the hell the worth of that idea is...

#3 depends on a lot too, man on man that would def not always be true and perhaps would be a strength of the indian.

I don't get why we moved them out of their homes and brought in slaves, when they could have stayed and done the work.

It's really a waste of resources.

Isn't the term 'Injun' considered just as offensive as the term 'Redskin' these days? :shrug2:

Because it started out as mutually beneficial. In the early days when the tribes held more power, the British colonies didn't want any beef. They would make lucrative offers to the Indians to gain their land and make treaties wherein the Indians retained almost all of the rights to hunt, fish, etc. on the land. As the colonies fought for independence, they maintained these good relations because they didn't want invaders from all sides. Even after the revolutionary war, many trades to keep good relations where kept going with the natives up North, partly due to a fear of other Europeans invading. Keep the tribes between you and them on your side. None of this would have been possible without these early Europeans containing resources from trade that were unavailable to Natives in their own country.

But, as the colonies grew in strength and became more developed, the need to keep the natives on their side suddenly dwindled. Now not only do we have resources that you enjoy, but we have weapons and technologies that are more advanced than what you produce. Should have killed us when you had the chance, rather than believing that we'd continue to trade with you in peace. As the military advantage fell into the hands of the Americans, there was little reason to keep peaceful trading alive. Why keep the middle man when you can just take the resources yourself? The Natives were not providing any resources that could not be obtained by simply taking over.

So the answer to this, as with most things, is economic resources.
Money is power.

Seems like their descendents are re-taking this country though, with all the mexican immigration going on these days and high mestizo birth rates. Everyone and their grandmother knows it's just a matter of time when white's in the us and even europe will be minorities...It'll happen in the us first though..Guess all that euro agression was for nothing..huh? Damn that sucks..
