I used to swear by Newport 100's. but then i started smoking Zig Zag menthols and prefer them to any other cig. Sure u can save time and shit by buying pre rolled cigarettes but , I enjoy rolling , plus it keeps me on top of my game.

no offense brah, but if you think tops and american spirit are the pinnacle of rolling tobacco, you obviously haven't tried many different kinds.

in my opinion, they are both subpar.  the flavor is meh, the moisture content is lacking, and the cut is far too rough and filled with eyestems, for both brands.

so far as readily available commercial blends go, i'm a bali shag golden [the red pouch] fan.  it's relatively cheap, quite tasty, and always quality.  however, i like to get tobacco shop blends whenever i can and money permits.  i like trying new things.

It's not the pinnacle, but as you say, money permitting, they're what I go for.

Bali shag is not my preference, however.  I am not a fan of the finely cut stuff.  Moisture, content, sure.  It's okay.  Flavor, meh.

Price = Top
Overall goodness = American Spirit Organic

Smoke shop blends are nice, too, though.

At least I didn't say bugler...

i suppose in all fairness, i haven't tried tops since my very first puff of tobacco (only 3 years ago, but still).  when i decided i wanted to learn to blow smoke rings i decided to get rolling tobacco and to not inhale.  tops was the only brand of rolling tobacco sold at the grocery store.

quite honestly i'm shocked you don't like the taste of bali shag.  i fucking love it.  i'm not a huge fan of halfswarez, which has like something i feel is akin to a meaty spice to it.  but i love golden, which i feel has subtle earthy and floral tones.  man i miss it so hard.  i haven't had a pack of bali shag in like 3 months.  and the two brands of czech rolling tobacco i have tried thus far have been shit.

Yeah, just make sure you're buying from a legitimate company like Njoy and not some cheap knockoff.

I smoke rarely but it's usually D'jarums.

ah, lame. They're only 4.50-5.00 a pack down here, and you get a dollar off if you buy 2 at once.

Is that just NewYork, or is the whole north east like that now? I haven't been up that was in like 4 or 5 years.

i havnt tried one yet but a friend of mine is gonna sell me his and all the stuff for it that he has for 80 or 90 i think. im not really a smoker so im pretty sure it will do for my needs. i only smoke when im out drinkin or at school socially. one of my teachers has one and he walks around during lecture hittin it in the middle of class, cracks me up for some reason.

Everywhere in the northeast to my knowledge, minus PA. In NYC it's $10-$12 a pack depending on what borough you're in.
