Backyard first flush of the season
    #11277549 - 10/19/09 01:49 PM (14 years, 5 months ago)

It just started raining heavily here in the bay area and the shrooms have started waking up from their summer sleep
I have no idea what any of them are but I believe the first ones to be Chanterells, but Im not about to just eat one to find out.

These next two, maybe some kind of Inocybe?

and the last ones I just am clueless on

And maybe a slime mold in this one

My guesses: some lactarius, a mycena, some agrocybes, perhaps a hypholoma and the last pic is too blurry to make out any useful detail.

Yeah, I understand, but I can't make out what it is exactly. Might as well be mycelium poking through the surface.

And you definitely haven't got anything there that remotely looks like a chanterelle. But perhaps some confusion could occur with young specimens, but some more experience will clear that up

I think the first one is a Paxillus, not a Lactarius.

Don't eat it. It has some nasty long-term effects if consumed regularly. Once wouldn't probably do that much damage though.
