Rash/ bacteria in Horse Poo??!!

so i found a good source for horse poo. Gets grocery bags full at a time. IDK what happened. Imma guess that it came from the pile that was really really fresh and really really big, so i grabbed alota of it. I think i contracted a rash from handling it. Maybe it came from the flies or whatever that were around the place. Has this happened to anyone before?

I wonder why some people are obsessed with fecal matter on this site; I will never know.

Why didn't you use gloves when handling fresh SHIT?!

Lol no, that's not why you shouldn't use fresh poo....
Fresh poo is usually soaked in urine, and thus full of urea, which is undesirable.
Once sun dried tho, most all the urea is gone.
Anywho, fresh poo is use able, but as you noted it has a higher chance of containing nastys that you dont want to handle, and is harder to prep for use.

well maybe that was before they were a trusted cultivator and you can dry it out yourself anyway. I mean don't take my word for it but you should look into it. Casue I've read people drying it themselves.

How long ago did you hanlde the poo, and how long ago did the irritation start?
Bacteria would take at least a few days to colonize to a number able to cause irritation, same with fungal infection.
Posion ivy/oak can be minutes to hours, but not more than 3-4hrs for symptoms to appear.

Looks like poison ivy. It was probably around the shit you scooped up. Poison ivy loves those soft areas on the forearms. Have you taken any Benadryl? What about Calamine lotion?

yep. Although I would say, that your ring slipped off in the poop, and that's how your arm made contact. I don't think the Dr. would buy the shoveling story, as that wouldn't involve direct physical contact.
