yeah it can get quite steep. the postage is worked out by volume rather than weight in this case, so my advice is if you do get a flowhood from them get loads of other stuff with it cos your postage wont go up that much... you do still get hit with VAT though...
shouldnt be too steep to get one shiped from mycorrhizae though, they based in germany i think...
yeah, funding is the most amazing thing ever, in the last few months we've been given free money to set up a decent lab and some separate money to build a bike trailer sound system. bonus

Ok so either the motor is 240V or 120V. Typically they are the larger of the two. That is why the wiring for 240V essentially just goes straight into the motor with no conversion. With the 120V it has to change the voltage, and hence why the power is routed through an additional process.
Exp, I had help wiring up a ballast that had similar 240V/120V for a 400W MH.
If you really want help, I know someone who can look at the drawing and tell me how to set it up.
Pfft, you can get those used on Craigslist or eBay for nothing if you shop around.

yep got it working thanks. had a play with it yesterday, its great
dont mind you asking about the funding at all, in fact im quite happy to rant about it. got the funding on the basis of doing mushroom growing workshops for environmental centers, allotment groups and such. its from a funding group up here which gives money to small community based projects that arent set up as businesses yet. got 4 grand out of it to buy loads of cool kit and if i can prove that the project is going well and such in 2 years i can apply for another 10 grand. woob!
yeah, i'd advise anyone to get funding for stuff, its surprisingly easy to do and people give you money for the craziest things...
