The fungus that attacked the Cakes.. Chapter 1
    #1127351 - 12/10/02 12:09 AM (21 years, 3 months ago)

Well that's it. Just threw away 2 more casings. They caught the mold. How do I prevent this from happening in the future?

Where can I get polyfill or Tyvek filters so I can control what air gets pumped into my system.

Where can I buy that stuff I think it's h2o2 so I can treat the water that's being sprayed into my terrarium.

Any other suggestions about why I always get molds on my casings? Could it be the humidity levels or the damp perilite?

Thanks

You can get polyfil in the crafts department at Walmart, and tyvek can be obtained at the post office (in envelope form).

Pick that up in the pharmacy dept of walmart after you got your polyfil.

It could be many reasons: improper sterilization of the substrate, filthy growing condtions, filthy grower, etc.

Hint- Lysol is your friend

haha. filthy grower....

where can you get h202 to treat the water source?

I got 2 good flushes out of these casings so I don't think it is the substrate but, how can one go about properly sterilizing casing layers?

H2O2 is Hydrogen Peroxide, i think it's like maybe $1.50 for a bottle at any pharmacy.....I've been told by my neighbor's cat that h2o2 breaks down in sunlight, and was also told that the bottle the peroxide comes in works well for not letting in any light

I spray before every fanning, I also wipe my arms with an alcohol soaked towel, and while fanning, I try not to breathe on my casings.
