So I ran across a decent patch of these very pretty mushrooms today. I have never bio-assayed any mushroom therefore never have experienced the "trip" of Psilocybin/cin common to cubes or others.
I guess my question is do you guys think it would be a good experience for me to go about the usual muscaria drying/consuming teks to try these mushrooms out. I've read a lot of good things about Muscaria and have been itching to see what it's all about, and I think it would be good for me since I don't have previous trips to compare it to therefore I am not biased toward or against Psilocybin trips.
Also does the Var. Persicina have more/less/different effects than the typical Fly Agaric?
Thanks! -Wren
Edit: Also here are some photos of my particular shrooms.

make sure those are not poinson mushies, ive seen some definately poison ones that look VERY similar to taht, no offence, just get a pro opinion before you ingest that stuff if you have never experienced cubes before, eating an unknown mush is actually pretty ignorant...so i would say dry these and eat cubes, if oyu can get a positive ID on those then go nuts, but cubes are less potent than other mushies and so i would reccommend thsoe first

Oh I already got a positive ID on those from a TI as A. Muscaria var. persicina.
I don't really see why trying these before psilocybes would be "ignorant", more along the lines of non-traditional transition. I don't see why it would make much of a difference.
Also: Im not really looking to "trip" in the recreational sense. I have had access to dealer sold "shrooms" before and I wasn't too interested since they couldn't even provide me with a species name. I am mostly interested in the different effects of the Muscimol in Amanitas vs. other substances.
