In what direction was the ball hit?

use the relative motion equations for two dimensional motion. plug the numbers in, solve for what you need... a monkey can do it.

when y is at it's max, Vy=0
when x is at it's max, V total= 0

the ball was hit at 24 degrees fool...

what variable do you need for x?

Movement in x and y directions are related only by time.  Find overall time in Y direction and use that in a kinematics equation to find distance traveled in x direction in that time...

Can you determine the vertical velocity when the ball was hit?
Can you determine the total velocity when the ball was hit?
Can you determine the horizontal velocity when the ball was hit?\
Can you determine its max height?
Can you determine the time it takes to fall from the max height to the fairway?

If yes, you have the travel time and horizontal speed so you can calculate the horizontal distance traveled (ignoring drag).

Omg, the first step is obvious.

Break it into the individual vector components for x and y.  vix = vi*sin(24deg) and viy = vi*cos(24deg).

You know the x-component of the velocity is constant, and the y component is undergoing constant acceleration with g.

I figured it out. You all are right, it was easier than I thought. Chill out. I'm more of a right-brained person.
