Raphsters spores (NOT an advertisement)
    #1126628 - 12/09/02 08:49 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

NOTE: I have NO intention of bashing ralphsters spores in any way, shape or form. From my understanding, they have always been personable and respectful in relating to their customers. However:

I was just reading some posts on the cannabis culture forum regarding ralphsters spores and came across the following messages:

>>why the hell do my 1/2 pint jars take a month? i got the incubator at 80 degrees. does that mean my spores are old i got them from ralphster44? peace<<

>>hey budgrowth, its funny you say that becuase I just ordered some spores from raphster that are also taking FOREVER to colonize. each 1/2 pint jar has 4 innoculation points- about 35% of the innoculation points are showing no growth even though I shook the syringes before each innoculation point and used over the recomended 1/4 cc per point. i also, have them in an incubator at 80 degrees. what strains were using? i ordered B+ and PR. i wont order from that vendor again.<<

>>i got my spores from ralphster and they were also taking a long time to colonize before it got contaminated. That is odd.<<

im NOT trying to bash ralphster, but these posts made me wonder wether or not I should use this vendor. has anyone else had problems w/ ralphsters spores or is this just a coincidence, i suspect and hope the latter?

I haven't ordered from Ralphster so I don't know from experience. That said, look around man. Everyone here that I've seen loves Ralphster; he is very highly regarded. If I needed spores right now, I would buy from Ralphster with complete confidence.

Also, on a side note, if your spores are germinating, they are viable. If not, then they aren't viable. It's as simple as that. It's black and white . . . either they are viable or they aren't.

I haven't ordered from that vender. I suggest you go to thelittleguy.com. Very reliable.

9 to 1 odds are that the people growing the cultures are to blame. There are many things they could be doing wrong, from poor incubation to jostling of the jars.

Of course there are many things that could slow down colonization, some of them could be the fault of the vendor, some even the fault of the Post Office.

Before you (the royal you) go bashing a someone for poor syringes, make sure you are doing everything you can to insure optimal colonization conditions.

Absolutely. In fact I would say 100 to 1 it's the cultivator's fault.

I ordered four syringes from Ralph in mid November.. got my stuff in a week.
My first batch (12) of PR's colonized to 100% this weekend. Two or three weeks total, some jars were faster than others. Haven't birthed yet, am still waiting for the mycos to develop more.
First batch I had 0% contams, then my second batch (12) had 75% (9) contams when I ran out of PR's and started the B+.. All of the B+ contamed. I did some tests this weekend and am waiting to see if I get any more B+ contams.
The rest I haven't tried yet.

Shopping around I find that TLG has best prices, plus he offers Dark syringes. I will order from him in the future.

The chances of a reputable spore vendor selling you a dud syringe or print are pretty tiny.
So those posts were naturally made by impatient newbie cultivators.

i mean its the cultivators fault not the spores, if ui dont incolate properly, you wont get colonazation or if u screw up accidently on something you wont get colonazation as in its not the spores fault
