Which pressure cooker?
    #11265185 - 10/17/09 01:44 PM (8 years, 8 days ago)

I decided to bring my 8qt cheapie back and I am gonna get one of the following, either the mirro 12 or 22 quart or the presto 23qt which is my best bet? The mirros are weighted the presto is gauge with a weight kit available seperate. The mirro 22 is 89 the 12 is 55. The presto is 85. Leaning toward the presto but not sure if I like the gauge idea. Any input?

Thanks!

I'm happy with my p23. Gauge plus jiggler is ok. I haven't had to replace the gasket yet.

Although i may advise others in a general way regarding all types of mushroom grows, and may even post question from other forums about growing "active" mushrooms, i only grow non-"active" mushrooms and edibles.

I've been using my Presto 23Q for four+ years with no problems.

Fits 10 quart jars, no problem.

I've had mine for about 3 years. Still works great.

For about two years though I only used it for pork butts.

Believe me there's nothing like bbq made in a pressure cooker. Yummy.

I have a PC w/ a gague and a jiggler, and I would never use one with out a gague now.

The shroomery requires a tek on this process.

If you have a good recipie for BBQ Sauce, either mustard or the clear (reminisent of the carolina's, for example) that would be the shiz as well.

I got a used all american 910 1/2.. small, but does two 5 lb rye bags, or a few jars at a time.. estate sale on ebay $40 + free ship.. works perfect. Would love a bigger one, but every time I have to do multiple loads, I remind myself of the deal.. and its all good.

HaHa, I love it :crazy2:

Now that I have a PC I don't know what I'd do without it. Mine's old and aluminum and I don't want to put food in direct contact, so I just put what I'm cooking in a stainless steel container with an oversized lid. I put that on a rack and add water to the cooker, kind of like a double boiler. Works great.

some things react with aluminum causing  corrosion and pitting
