A nice post would be a sticky with all of the Botanical terms. Also one explaining what all of the Latin names mean. I know they can be searched , but it would ne a nice addition to EBG.

thks for the post, nearly ate a whole bunch of cactus which i thought might be Peruvians... before i drop the idea, think you are able to help me by confirming that these are non mescaline containing cactus? Any help will be greatly appreciated

Really nice guide there question though: should the noob (like me) also rely on it when looking at possible bridgesii, peruvianus or other trich. species? Couldn't find out yet how much they differ.

As far as rib structure goes they are similar but there are differences.
Also chances are bridgesii and peruvianus will not be found in most stores that don't specialize in cacti or around town.

I just bought a little cactus at Home Depot on the suspicion of mescaline. Unfortunately, your guide identified it for me as a Pilosocereus.

I think it's a Myrtillocactus,and no it's not psychoactive.
